The flame is being handed to Britain at an event in Athens. Former English football captain David Beckham will be handed the flame before it is sent to Cornwall for the relay’s start.

Sir Chris Hoy, the 4 times Olympic champ, is asking people to hit to the roads to welcome the 2012 London Torch Relay, the time when it reaches the town. The flame is being handed to Britain at an event in Athens. Former English football captain David Beckham will be handed the flame before it is sent to Cornwall for the relay’s start.

On Saturday, starting in Land’s end, the Torch Relay will go to Poole, Bournemouth, Purbeck and Christchurch. Approximately, 8,000 runners will hold the torch on their historic travel to London Olympic Stadium for 27th July’s opening ceremony.

While speaking to Echo, Sir Chris said that the Torch Relay 2012 is going to be a great event. The games is not only about London but also about the whole nation. This is a scope for each community to experience the games and cheer their torchbearers.

All of them have worked quite hard. Now that the whole world will be looking at them as they hold the torch they will really want to assure that they are quite confident in their power to deliver.
